Anatomyou VR is an immersive 3D application that teaches human anatomy for minimally invasive procedures. Since the beginning of its development, we have often been contacted by people and entities that have found new ideas of use or new functionalities for this app.
Today, we want to share some of these stories that have inspired and motivated us to continue improving and adding functionalities to this ambitious project that aims to update human anatomy learning with new immersive technologies.
University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Island, Spain)
This was the very first experience os this project. Students form second year of Medicine Degree at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria became beta testers of Anatomyou VR using headset devices to fit their mobile phones so they could navigate inside anatomical structures in an immersive way.
Their feedback helped us improve our UI as well as the user experience of the application.
Gdańskie Liceum Autonomiczne (Poland)
Although Anatomyou VR was born as a necessity to complement the training carried out by our collaborators of the Chair of Medical Technology f the ULPGC in the healthcare environment with virtual simulation technology, it can also be used for teaching subjects such as biology or natural sciences in Universities, Institutes and Schools, since it fulfills the same functionality; show in an immersive way how human anatomy is and locate anatomical structures in 3D.
In this sense the University of Gdańskie Liceum Autonomiczne used the application Anatomyou VR, in the degree of Biology, finding it very useful to complement its teaching contents.
University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain)
Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of La Laguna had the opportunity to use this app during a subject for the learning of anatomy, immersively visualizing the main conduits of endoluminal systems.
HKU Space (Hong Kong)
The Research & E-learning Unit Hong Kong University (HKU), used Anatomyou VR during a demonstration of virtual reality applications for education to show students and interested people the possibilities of this technology in the teaching field.
Federal Institute of Triangulo Mineiro (Brazil)
Students of Biological Sciences of the Federal Institute of Triangulo Mineiro (Brazil), took the learning experience one step further with Anatomyou VR. With much ingenuity and guided by the Professor Aldo Luis Pedrosa and his team, the students complemented with physical recreations the immersive experience of Anatomyou VR.
All previous experiences, although they are pilot events/experiences, have been a boost to this project, which continues to grow leaving the doors open and being available for new proposals and ideas that help improve the learning process of human anatomy.
